Louis "Rocket" Re — United States

Louis "Rocket" Re was a daredevil who hailed from Long Island, New York. Born May 6, 1965 and left this earth on December 4, 2023. Louis started jumping motorcycles in the late 1990's. He first got interested in motorcycle jumping when he saw Evel Knievel jump his Harley-Davidson at Wembley Stadium live on ABC's "Wide World of Sports". Louis was bit by the jumping bug. He could remember saying to his parents, "One day I'm going to jump motorcycles." They looked at him like he was crazy!

Louis never became world famous or rich like Evel, but how many people can say they got a chance to live their childhood dream? Over the last several years, Lou had become friends with Evel Knievel and jumping legend, Bob Gill. He has worked or jumped with Doug Danger, Robbie Knievel, "Super Joe" Einhorn, Tom Bryan and Spanky Spangler. Lou always felt that cycle jumpers and cycle jumping fans were the nicest people you will ever meet.

He enjoyed doing charity shows the most. It was a way to do what he loved and get a chance to help people in need along the way. On June 12, 2011, Lou successfully jumped a 1970 American Eagle Laverda 750 over 9 cars as a tribute to Evel Knievel. Evel was the last man to successfully jump this kind of bike over 40+ years ago.
