Jumping Johnny Lee — United States

Johnny Lee was Kansas City, Missouri's answer to Evel Knievel. On Friday evening, Aug. 16, 1974, Johnny Lee from Holden made a record jump at Riverside Raceway with his motorcycle. He jumped over eight cars. The 126 foot jump was performed for the first time on a 1/4 mile track.
It was recorded at that time as the longest jump made successfully without a landing ramp. The motorcycle Johnny used was a 500cc Yamaha.
